TOUCH POINT SANITATION & DISINFECTION

Disinfection should be carried out in conjunction with what is known as touch-point cleaning. This ensures those parts of your workplace which most often come into contact with people are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

The frequently touched surfaces within your premises are likely to include the following: desktops and work surfaces, doorknobs, doorplates & handles, light switches, computer keyboards / mouse, telephone equipment, chairs, canteen furniture, sinks and kitchens, toilets – taps / flushers / dispensers, water fountains, vending machines, tablets and digital devices, lift buttons, handrails.

DISINFECTANT FOGGING

It is an effective infection control technique, applying chemical disinfectants to areas as fogs or mists by using ULV fogging machine.

The purpose is to create and disperse a disinfectant aerosol to reduce the numbers of airborne micro-organisms and also to apply disinfectant to surfaces that may be difficult to reach.

Under typical conditions, fogging is carried out for a minimum of 15–30 minutes to enable the fog to disperse and the chemical action to occur.
After fogging, an additional period of 45–60 minutes is required to allow the droplets to settle out of the air and onto the surfaces.
